The Power of Open Data for Improving Health

Thursday, July 7, 2011 | 3 p.m. (EDT)

Todd Park, CTO, US Department of Health and Human Services

Todd Park is CTO of the US Department of Health and Human
Services (HHS). But he's not CTO in the sense of the guy who worries
about the office technology. He's the guy charged with the mission
of freeing public health data and making it useful for people who
can use it, remix it, turn it into apps, and by doing so, improve
the country's health. HHS itself won't be doing the work that
transforms the country's healthcare--but they will be making it
possible for markets and the public to create change through new
incentives and liberating data.
