Lifecycle management is a process and toolset that is designed to provide a systematic and repeatable method for managing each stage of a system from conception through production. The key to operating an enterprise environment using a lifecycle management approach is this: a clear set of procedures and a toolset to execute it. A plan without the tools cannot be implemented, while tools without a plan will provide unpredictable results.
